Savoured the moment

Sleepover at Menorca's

It was Labor Day and a good break for me to visit Glean’s exquisite and placid home in Belair, at last! Chris went with me. Feje should have been with us but she’s too far and I’m certain she's enjoying Bora with friends and family. It also was a perfect time to catch up with each other. We cooked, hmm alright, Glean cooked then we ate hahaha (masabi lang na nasa kitchen kami). O sige na nga, I'm impressed. Don’t worry I won’t tell your secret ingredient, eww =p

Before that, Glean toured us inside and outside her home. La lang, tawa ako ng tawa cause I was thinking I do host sleepovers but I haven’t done that. There we were introduced with their dog sham, birds, and fishes, plants, and trees hahaha. Date nalang ang kulang, history na ang dating.

We met her parents who reminded me of my parents. I had this fancy thought that they’re stern and all but no, they are very warm and welcoming. Gelyn, her smarter than a fifth grader sister was there too. We watched TV while talking random stuff, tapos kain na naman ng dinner then watch ulit and due to wide variety of channels, we lost tracked of time. Glean told us it's eleven already, whaaat, so we headed to their room and watched Chocolat. Man, I don't have a sweet tooth but watching it together with sweet munchers, I am wowed! There’s a dance scene I remembered the sisters acted out which made us laugh on the floor (exag). I think we all liked the film. It’s worth your time.

Friday isn’t holiday so I took a last minute leave. Chris was the first one asleep. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!! She can’t absent from office kasi month-end daw pero naman she overslept. Hehehe. Buti nalang tricycle away lang ang Technopark from Belair. Still, half-day na cia. Ano na nga yung alibi mo???

Actually, I was awakened with my mom's call around 730. I promised her to be at home at 8 and there I was having a hard time opening my eyes. After ending the call, I slept again.

The finale, we got up almost lunchtime Sobrang naka-rest, refreshed talaga ako I had enough fun at sana maulit muli =)

I'm glad I have few but great friends I can surround myself with. I hope this is how it always will be.

Let me leave you this quote from Chocolat. (what a segue, lolz, we’re all struck with it)

I think that we can't go around... measuring our goodness by what we don't do. By what we deny ourselves, what we resist, and who we exclude. I think... we've got to measure goodness by what we embrace, what we create... and who we include.

GF for a Day

My initial reaction was, "Whaat?? Do it later???"
Because my college SUPER blocmate is abroad and it's her bf's (who's staying here in the Philippines) birthday, I had to be a gf for a day! Oh, being a gf is an overstatement, lol. Both of them, Daisy and Ferdie are my friends and it’s my joy to know they are happy. Daisy wanted me to meet him, give him cake and any other stuff which can easily be bought. My only concern was the time preparation. I'm at work and Ferdie is in graveyard shift. I can't think of any alibis. Meeting him a day before his birthday would be very obvious. I have a lot of "what if's". Good thing, Ferdie decided to meet up the next day and better yet because I'll also meet Chris that day and I thought she could really help.
The supposedly scenario was to give him cake and the balloons, then director says, cut, good take! But another sequence was added, he invited us to eat dinner. It was so generous of him and very rewarding for us hahaha. It was a fun night and maybe a tough one for Ferdie due to our interrogations =p
Can't wait to see you, Daze in 13 days! wohooo :D

Not BFF’s, not even close...

The things I knew about her are countable with my fingers. The time spent with her didn’t even reach a couple of years. We were groupmates but didn’t have the opportunity to work on a project. But despite all these things, the first week without her isn’t just the same. She might have taken long vacations before but knowing now that she wouldn’t return on her seat is a different story. I miss her noise, hahaha! No one’s asking me the one word question, “noh?” and the everyday lunch rhyme which is, “Karen, kaeeen?" and lastly, I miss our laughs, our unending laughs at the corniest, smallest thing we see or hear.
I am grateful to have met someone like you, LAR. I wish you happiness and success on your new found job!:D I want you to know that your life made an impact in mine. Who knows, our paths may cross again somewhere sometime!=)

8 facts about myself

Rules:

In the 8 facts about yourself, you share 8 things that your readers don't know about you. Then at the end you tag 8 other bloggers to keep the fun going.

* Each blogger must post these rules first.
* Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
* Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
* At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
* Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog.

Eight Facts:

1) During elementary until first year high school, I used to compete in oration / declamation contests. I remember memorizing those really really long pieces and now I hardly remember peoples' names. (Anyone, please explain hahaha!)

2) I had a once a week home service piano lesson which lasted only for two to three months because I feel uneasy or somehow afraid of my instructor esp during exams (written and actual). It became a burden every week, that time na ang bata ko pa diba namomroblema na, until I made all kinds of alibis to get rid of her. Another thing, I don't read music notes (she believed I do), I memorize them :D

3) I learned to commute on my own when I was a high school sophomore because I have a school service ever since and on my first time, I was very proud of myself.

4) I was enrolled in Accelerated Christian Eduacation for the last three years of my high school. It's like home study but you are actually in school. Learning is individualized. You have your own cubicle / workstation, different from what we are accustomed to, but it's fun, fun, fun!:D (hello to those who took ACE curriculum, ACE rocks!)

5) I took Computer Science because I thought we've had enough of accountants in the family. (both father and mother side)

6) I eat with my hands at home. (shempre without house guests)

7) When I was an elementary student, I love to draw cartoon images like x-men, ninja turtles, and power rangers ^-^ but that hobby was eventually replaced with playing musical instruments. Today, I am still amazed at people inclined in visual arts esp drawing and painting :)

8) I am afraid of heights and snakes.

people i tagged: agee, mel, dennis, tina, gilbert, sarah, daryll, leslie
*guys, if you're done with this, eh di repost hahaha:)

Lobo

This isn't about the pilot episode of Angel and Papa Piolo's Lobo last night. But last night, I learned how to make a flying balloon with Master Chris.

Here we go!

We need these items:

Round balloon, string, helium balloon gas, black ink, balloon printer(not sure with the terminology =D)

First, inflate balloon with helium gas and tie it off. (i let chris do it, i'm afraid it might pop)

Balloon printing is next which is much easier (that's what i thought haha)
Collect the letters for the balloon message and lay it on a frame-like metal in a reverse order. Each letter(also metallic) is already in reversed form.
Apply black ink on the letters using sponge (haha feeling ko talaga maka-lumang style 'to). Lastly, gently roll the balloon across the plate. Just make sure it would touch all the letters so it will be readable.

The one I did was funny, hindi mabasa yung 'Birthday' kaya ginawan nalang ng
paraan =p

Chris was laughing. I was lauging more. Ok chris, it's your time to shine. Sige nga, show me your talent hahaha. Aba naman, pwede na :)

They have wooden designs also like this one.

It was fun! The balloon was deflated because I don't want to bring it with me inflated, souvenir nalang :D dun din naman mapupunta yun. Thanks Chris, buti nalang meron kayo party needs business!^-^

Just one

1 Starbucks planner for only a cup of frap! How?!? I went to the SB counter, ordered the coffee. With the power of persuasion like Eden Mccain's (HEROES), I yelled at the lady, "give me my starbucks planner" and right away I had one! Not true of course, it was just my imagination (running away with me)!=p

I have no interest of collecting 24 stickers for the planner. I'm just not into it. I am so fine with my mobile phone's calendar for reminders. Besides, my schedule isn't too tight to have every hour event of my life written in paper. :) I guess, to some, it isn't about planning but plainly collecting. Still, not my type of collection.

But how I got mine? Let's say there are "Starbucksholic" around. My friend is one of them. He has completed the first set and already has his own. After knowing that if I buy 1, he'll be able to complete the 2nd set, I didn't have a second thought when he offered it to me. Very rewarding for me hahaha! Thanks ever_kulit! The planner would take so much space in my bag and won't be able to bring it everyday but it's nice and super worth a cup. Hopefully, they would create not a bulky one next time, pero hindi pa din ako magcocollect!;p
