Wrap up of the year that was!
My 2011 did not start that good. Midyear came and all I can
see were days lost. It is the feeling of dragging yourself to face another day
and let it pass without any satisfaction about it. It was rough but I tell you
guys, it ended perfectly! Because when God moves, it is always too marvelous for words! I will
remember 2011 as a year of increase!!!
Here are some areas in my life where increase is evident. Let
me start off with my relationships. I have lost contact with few friends but have
gained more friendships along the way! My Facebook timeline even says I have
added 174 friends, lol! That’s a bunch of connection out there!
Say 5% of them to support you everyday isn’t bad, right!? Now
it’s for me to nurture those relationships and keep them intact and strong! I still
believe that the best investment in life is investment in people, in
relationships. So more investments for 2012, more people to inspire, influence,
and bless! Whoooo!
I also thank God in the area of finances. Jehovah Jireh is
real. He provides for our needs, he provides abundantly! On my previous blog, I’ve
shared how I landed a new job therefore a salary increase for me! Yep, my
cost-of-living increased as well. As one of my colleagues said, increase in
salary also increases the expenses. But
that does not invalidate the fact that you are blessed with more. Now it’s for
me to become a good steward and faithful with what is entrusted to me.
Lastly, I’ve gained, drum roll please….. tada… I’ve gained
weight! Hahaha! As a consolation, people say it’s good on me but I don’t buy
that 100%. Now it’s for me to monitor the food I eat. Because at the end of the
day, it’s not about being thin or fat but being healthy for the people you love.
Weh! Sana lang hindi ko na payamanin ang KFC or McDO! :P
A new year has begun and I leave you with this - Forget what
lies behind. Reach toward what lies ahead. HAPPY 2012!!!

A whole new world...
...a dazzling place I never knew…
It’s been three months since I landed a new job. Everything’s happening so fast! And If I may say, everything’s completely changed! From my waking hour to my night time sleep plus all that’s happening in between. Imagine doing the same thing for five years and one snap you are brought back to zero. Surely it entailed big adjustments in my daily life.
I tell yah, it’s not all WOW with smiles. During my first couple of weeks, I always catch myself in frustration and sometimes I just have to let the tears come. I felt so naive. I remember walking along Ayala Ave saying, God I can’t take another day of this! Long walks and riding six vehicles a day, oh come on you got to be kidding me, right!? Then thunder roared and lightning flashed and came a loud voice saying, NO Karen I am very serious about this! But of course that didn’t happen -- just my creative thinking hahaha!
With every passing day, I’ve learned to cope up. I normally laugh those off now. If I didn’t go out of my comfort zone, I will never know what is like out there. I will be stuck where I’ve always been wondering about the “what ifs”.
Yes, I still miss the life I left but I am embracing what I have and I am glad where I am now.

Extraordinary Bond
It was exactly my second week in the office. My day was quite normal, still adjusting with the environment and the people surrounding me. I kept looking at my watch as I want this seemingly long day to end and hit that 5 o’clock. Suddenly a chinita girl was introduced to us. Whoa! There’s a newly hired employee, I’m not alone anymore! I was relieved, as if my anxiety abruptly vanished. I couldn’t remember our first conversation but I guess it would likely be in the comfort room. =)
Even if we were from different teams, we would take afternoon breaks together. I was happy that there is at least one I could confide my sentiments with and help each other adapt. After some time, we were able to finally harmonized with our own groups. Still, I wouldn’t forget the highlights of my firsts in the company with her.
Our batch was nonetheless fortunate to have experienced so far the last grand Christmas Party. Memories of our xmas dance practices will always be remembered. I knew we all were excited! We even won the first place! =) During summer, our company initiation was held. Once more, it was an experience we took together with all other new comers. Instead of us being terrified, it turned out to be the other way around hahaha!
Dinner and lunch together, sleepover, road trip together, and simple good times at workplace are inserted here.
Now after almost 4 years, She is moving on.
Good luck Mel-o! You’ll surely be missed. We are always here for you. Di mabubuo ang GERZEN kung wala ka… Waaah, nauna ka pa sakin =P

Workmates' Appreciation Day
Do you have workmates who inspire you in odd ways?
I DO!!!
These people are the people I most of the time take for granted. It's time that I thank my workmates, ooppps, I'd rather call them playmates for being exceptionally fun, and not toxic. Though not everyone is, I am lucky to still got a few of them, lol! :)
So, calling all the working people out there, it's time to really express your gratitude towards your officemates or teammates. You never know when any of them will ever work with you again.

my own version ^-^
I was delighted when I saw the price of mangoes dropped by 50% last weekend. It's mango season in the Philippines and I wish it has no season at all because mango is one of my favorite fruits, yeah ripe and the green ones! Without thinking twice, I decided to make this simple dessert that I got from my mom. I only added all purpose cream nyahaha. This is the second time I made this. It's very very simple. Even graders can do it hahaha! My boys (dad, siblings) love it! Here is the photo of the end product =)

can't even think of one
I want to blog again but I don't know where to start or even how to start maybe. It's been years that I have been accustomed to writing in 140 characters or less. And for me exceeding that limit is a lot of writing already! Ha! Well some say it's a skill. It's a TALENT, it's an ART - for you to convey your message slash feelings in that limited characters of post. But it's alarming at least for me, because not only do I lose the enthusiasm of writing in its real sense, but It gets me feeling bored when reading long posts as well.
Perhaps I should try blogging with a core topic like what my real blogger friends do. They were there when I started and they are still here! :) I am not promising anything but I'm challenging myself in this. Best of luck to me ☺
