How would you feel meeting with close friends you haven’t been with for more than five years?! Questions like, have they changed themselves from before? Would there still be a connection among you? I thank God for permitting me and my highschool friends have a get-together last night. I admit that a couple hours spent with them is so little for us to catch up with our stories.
I came first on our meeting place. I don’t know why somehow I feel anxious to see them! I was constantly looking at those coming inside while practicing what I would say. Would there be hugging like what we always do or plainly say our hi’s and hello’s. To my surprise, nothing changed. When Herschelle and Joan came, there was not a single feeling of awkwardness among us. Seems like we were just together a week ago! We just can’t hide our emotions and people were starting to stare at us because of our noise. Then with a low voice, I told the two, “ui nakakahiya, ang ingay natin”! Then the still frank Joan candidly say, “pasensya na po four years na di nagkita”! As usual, Jenny came in late though Jehan was the latest comer. (Jehan came from Bulacan pa but Jenny haay nako, what’s new hehehe)
We didn’t really talk much because we just laugh and laugh and laugh more! I loved it and I missed our days! Herschelle has to leave because of her final exam the next day while Joan has a gig that night. Jehan, Jenny, and I had a “work-talk”. I just can’t believe we are talking about our work and more serious matters! It was then I realized the long years we were apart.
As always, the day has to end. We have to separate ways. But I know that we will meet again. When? I don’t know. I just know we will =)
To my friends, old and new, my life wouldn’t be this beautiful without you (mushy) :)
