Deck the Halls...

Last night I watched the movie Deck the Halls with three of my officemates Emme, Agee, and Thess. It was unplanned. I just invited Thess to attend church service then she asked me to watch movie after. I don't even have to think twice, yeah why? Because I don't have to pay for it =) It so happened Thess has a movie pass for two. While Emme and Agee insisted to have portions in the free ticket, I also insisted they don't have to. Well, just proved how great and understanding friends they are and how much they earn more wehehe, so I don't have to worry and feel guilty about it!=) Thanks to the three of you! Anyway, we made a deal if there would still be raffle this coming christmas party, and I'll win the grand prize, then I'm gonna pay for their movie tickets next time =) (girls, start praying!!!)

And the movie...I'll give it a 3/5 rating. Great great production but just a simple story. Agee fell asleep! But there was one who I guessed did enjoy watching and forgot about her things, lost her phone and suspecting it was snatched by the one seated beside her. Whoa! I can't belive there would be snatchers inside ATC cinema! Life can be tough sometimes. But everything happens for a reason and for us to learn.

For this Christmas Season, let's give more love more than material things, spend it with our loved-ones or remember them, be at peace with the people around us, and be grateful for the best gift God ever gave--Jesus Christ!=)

Does not matter how it starts but how it ended...

I feel so weak. Days of insufficient sleep maybe are the reasons. It's been weeks that I've been sleeping late at night and waking early in the morning. Still, I'm not so satisfied with my activities. Time is running without me accomplishing things. I mean there are, few little things and I thing there should be more! I'm not sure if it's right, this feeling of guilt in me everytime I am not in active use hehe. Somebody said to be just thankful for the rest I have. And yes I'm so thankful! However, I can't take away "if only's" in my mind.

Sometimes I am trapped that I want to escape and do sensible things. But all I have to do is wait. Waiting is tiring haha. So whenever I got all the time, I now have this excuse that I'm tired and needs some rest! Well, I need someone who will help me in time management...

----------

Hooray! We had our formal dance session for our christmas party. It was fun! We had a good laugh everytime we make mistakes =p Thank God this day ended beautiful!=)

I'm on my way home sweet home nah nah nah nah...

Three days ago, I went to ATC with two of my officemates to look for 'something colorful' as for the kris kringle's theme this week. Among the three of us, only I has the plan of buying one. They went out really to eat! But then, Ed and Mel were the first ones to find their gifts. If you're looking for something unusual, oh it's really hard esp you don't know, don't see the person yet hehe. After an hour of searching, I finally decided my pick. We ate literally fast because we've exceeded our break time so I just extended an hour at the office.

I've missed mid-week service for two weeks already. This time I was able to attend with Rina and Mark. Oh men, the preacher was from Indonesia named Mel Tari and He was one of the great preachers I ever met. He was funny yet passionate! I remember what He said, He hasn't meet and will never find a great a Christian, person whatever, only people with great God! That night was so full and I was deeply encouraged!

The next day, we were called for a meeting regarding our christmas party. The theme is masquerade. The new hired this year and last year who have not performed much will take part in the performance competition they said. We have to dance ballroom so it would be related with the theme. It just reminded me of my debut, the practices and all, hmm(the walk-out scenario of our dance instructor too =p)

Thursday night, I had to work after office hours and work for our deadline. Gilbert is a monster programmer hehe. I admit, I'm not into web programming but I'm liking it now. I was coding for more than hour and when I can't figure it out, he'll do it the optimized version for five minutes maybe! I've learned a lot in two days working on that report.

Last night, I hang-out with my bestfriend. She was happy that she was able to received her pay from being an SA last semester. I'm happy too because she treated me dinner =) I just didn't have the energy anymore so we did catch up on things and went home.

Today, I have to go back to my apartment to get my stuff before going home to Laguna. I imagine being home late affternoon. Then tomorrow is the day I really can spend with my family, then as evening comes, i have to prepare clothes etc. again and again for the coming week. I hope we have our own house here in Alabang and sleep there, eat food prepared by my mom, talk with my family after work and feel so at home!=)

I can't be sick!

Around 3am, I felt my throat aching badly. I forced myself to sleep, but still I felt uneasy. The night before I go to sleep, I already sensed a sore throat coming. I did what my mom told us to do when this happens. I gargled a glass of warm salt water. Right now, I still have hard time swallowing. This tonsillitis thing runs in the family and I remember being monitored yearly by our GP because it may lead to heart failure. Thank God because I experience it once a year at most.

This is also the reason why I avoid sweets. It just happened every time I eat too much sweets, it triggers to a sore throat. Last weekend, I ate a lot of cake and drank more soda than water. The hospital environment also added maybe. Then yesterday, I was exposed to people smoking. And last night, I stayed in the house of my bestfriend's grandma again. After 9 days of mourning, we were now allowed to play the piano. I always wanted to have a grand piano of my own though I'm not a pro pianist. I just hear songs and try to play it on my keyboard =) So last night, we were singing at the top of our lungs. My plan of sleeping early was thwarted again but I had a great night!

Another thing that bothers me is having canker sore (singaw po in Tagalog hehe) in my mouth. Ay, grabe talaga! Based on my research, Doctors don't know the cause of it yet. Not sure about that anyway. It's so annoying and I want it gone...Hoping to feel better soon!

Well, Christmas is on the air! Last friday we picked our kris kringle-mate hehe, I dunno how you would like to call it. But it's simply the exchange of gifts without telling anyone who you picked until it's revelation time. This week's theme is something colorful with 5 colors at least! Clue: my pick is guy and I guess it's easier to buy women gitfs than men hehe... Yesterday, Gilbert gave me his spare mouse, and not all spare are old haha, actually it's new! His requested new pc came and asked me if I wanted the mouse, so I had it! I'm like a kid handed with a lollipop hehe. Well, at least it's ergonomically designed (optical with convenient scrol wheel). See, I'm a child at heart and very much grateful with small things!=)

It's been a long yet short week!

I hate memory lapse! Just before I started blogging, I forgot my blogger account. At least my third try was accepted. I hope it's just normal. It happens occasionally and I get lost. Especially remembering a person's name, I need to be good at it. Imagine a scenario, I met this friend and next meeting I have with me another friend and you have to introduce them but unfortunately you can't recall the person's name, hoping you just didn't meet the person! And if I can't find a way, sorry but I make sure the conversation is fast and worse, I don't introduce them anymore =p Or maybe I just have too much in mind today.

This week, I kind'a broke a routine. It was like my first two weeks in office where I traveled back and forth from Laguna to Alabang and so on... It's tiring but it was fun! I had time to encourage my mom who's confined in the hospital again last thursday. I pray that everything would be better for my family.

Last week, we were planning for my dad's birthday. It's gonna happen tomorrow, and I guess we would be celebrating it in the hospital. It may not seem ok but you always have to look on the brighter side! If today didn't turned the way you want it to be, hmm tomorrow can be beautiful =)

I had my hair rebonded last sunday. Just a treat for myself hehe, though my brother paid the quarter. Still, I realized it's not a want for me, it's a need!;p Now it's quite manageable and the stylist told me it could last for 6 months (sana nga) depending on the hair growth. My rebonding experince took 7 hours! They had a free back massage, too. I love it! I found out I got "nodules" on my back! She said it was due to stress, hmm well...

Last night, I met my bestfriend with her parents and some of her relatives. We ate in Gerry's Grill. As much as I wanted to eat, I just ate a few. Aside from the fact that I don't eat much, I ate also in Gourmet with my officemates before meeting them. We moved around looking for a birthday present for my dad but I end up buying stuff for my mom and for me hehe!

I slept in the place of my bestfriend's grandma. Her husband died and request Chris to stay with them for days. Good thing, they seemed to have recovered fast from the lost of a loved one. You really can't control things. We have to treasure the people around us now and not wait for the time we can't touch them, hear them, ad feel them!

Another highlight of the week was having 5 meetings/discussion with work projects. I hope I could really contribute in here. I'm excited at the same time nervous to meet deadlines hehe..

That's it! Let's call it a week! There are much more to tell but I'm having my memory gap again haha... ÜÜÜ

Well-made Filipino thriller gets ‘A’ rating from CEB

“Ang Pamana (The Inheritance),” a supernatural thriller about Filipino folklore, was given an “A” rating by the Philippine Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB), citing the film’s “technical excellence.”

Directed by Romeo Candido, “Ang Pamana” is the second move to get an “A” rating from the CEB this year after Jeffrey Jeturian’s “Kubrador.” This entitles “Ang Pamana” to a 100-percent amusement tax rebate.

“The story [of ‘Pamana’] is very well-told and the approach is very original,” CEB chair Christine Dayrit told the Philippine Daily Inquirer. “Watching the movie was a hair-raising experience.”
Dayrit said the board screening committee was impressed, among other things, by the remarkable performance of model-TV host Phoemela Barranda, and the work of Gerard Salonga (yes, Lea’s younger bro), who did the “really haunting” musical score — recorded by a live orchestra. She also commended cinematographer Odyssey Flores.

“It is interesting to note that the film is not star-driven,” said Dayrit. “The characterizations are so well-developed that big stars are not needed. Phoemela Barranda’s acting is exceptional.”

Let's have some fun!

Yesterday is Daryll's bday! She's from the same department I'm working with. During our aftenoon break, we had a "salu-salo" in honor of her day! The party isn't over yet, we took our dinner in a ktv bar in star mall. Got there for the first time. It was a long night of singing, eating, and laughing. Not everyone of us came, only me, the birthday girl, Leslie, Gilbert, Olie, and Edmon. Here are our cool pics:

Hold on!

I miss seeing my mom in her normal condition!!! I just have no work to do and memories pop in my head. Weird, but I really miss the old days..."Mommy, fight ka lang...Malalagpasan din natin ito!" God will see us through!
